10Swap Service
I am one of those guys who latched on to a mobile service provider named Aircel, even before the company rolled out its service. Aircel came out with a wonderful launch strategy in 1999, they offered incoming free (BPL was charging close to Rs.18 for incoming) and I lapped the service and till date i own and use the same number. I have not changed the service provider for the past eleven years not for the kind of love i have with them nor do they provide me a world class service. I have no choice… if I shift to another service provider I will loose my number, in turn my contacts will loose my number.
But over the years I used to curse myself for choosing this service provider for there was no customer service, Technological advancement and even they never knew they had a customer like me over a decade. But I used to crave for Airtel with the kind of offers they used to lure the customers and the technological advancement they had at one point of time, for all those who have suffered in this kind of a syndrome, just wait we have an option (MNP) Mobile Number Portability service will bring a paradigm shift in the Indian Telecommunication Industry. Mobile Number Portability (MNP) means subscribers can retain their mobile number but can change the service provider for a low porting charge at Rs.19. Once, MNP is in vogue, the success of customerโs acquisition and retention strategies will hinge on an operators ability to offer unique services and to act upon customer demographics, life style, factors and purchase preferences โ the factors that normally drive customers to change their existing number. It is time the customer service departments deliver superior experiences. MNP is going to intensify the competition and challenges. It is time service providers meet and beat customer expectations and build lasting relationships. When MNP is arriving, my service provider has altered his brand image, brought in technological advancements but still lagging on service. Let us see how mobile operators handle this challenge, a wonderful case study is in the offing !!
Waiting for it, i can dump my Vodafone. Except the zozo nothing is in it.
Its a really gud concept… But sir don u think it ll be complicated????
Komal..Y should there be a complication, I buy a service and retain the number..i might move on to the best service provider. so competition is to provide the best service among the service providers. Let customers enjoy a bit..!! Telecommunication industry is moving into an interesting space, 3G out and now with lot of players, god at last we have a choice. You know how much customers have suffered with the confusion marketing strategy of telecommunication companies.
๐ got it sir!!!
